The Lakeview Day Scholarship is an outgrowth of Lakeview Day as a gathering of friends, family, community members, and extended family over the last 25 + years. The Lakeview Day scholarship was initiated with small donations and ‘passing the hat’ beginning in 2011 with the funds growth and protection entrusted to Lynch Financial Services as the steward of the fund. In 2013 the 1st scholarship was awarded to a Lakeview resident, Tyrique Bartonm a St. John’s University student. The 2nd Scholarship award will be this year 2014.

The goal of the fund is to be able to give a $10,000 yearly award to advance our connection to our community youth, create jobs for our and their future , and foster a better future for the community and the recipients . The Lakeview Day campaign theme of 2014 – 2015 is : One Community. One Love...the traditions continue.
